Bravery and being an influencer

When people think of #influencers, they think of social media stars. Similarly, when people hear the word bravery they think of grand gestures and heroes on the news.

However, the biggest influencers in your life are actually the people that you spend the most time with. Want to know where your life is headed and what you will turn into? Take a look around you. Even if you don’t like what you see, the people who you spend the majority of your time with, are the people that you will eventually morph into. Cue panicked faces as the reality of that statement hits home!

I am a big believer in the universe working for you. When you are ready the world will bring people and situations into your life to help you grow and become a better person.

I recently had a new person show up in my life and what a breath of fresh air she is! You won’t read about her on socials with millions of followers or see her on the news but her bravery and influence has had a huge impact on me. She knows what she wants out of life and isn’t afraid to go and get it. She refuses to settle for less no matter how bleak the alternative looks.

Where other people would assess the situation, knowing they were unhappy, knowing they’d made a mistake but conclude that it is safer to sit still and settle, at least for a while, she displays pure courage in standing up and being counted and saying this isn’t right and it’s not what i thought it would be and MOST importantly I’m not prepared to settle.

She is literally the poster child for taking bold action no matter what the consequences are.

This is the thing that makes her stand out for me though, she’s a go getter. She doesn’t just accept that she doesn’t like something and wait for an easy exit to drop into her lap. She goes and makes it happen with a brilliant confidence that could put Marilyn Monroe in the shadows.

Others may look at her and see weakness, that she couldn’t hack it and isn’t made of strong stuff. I however, look and see a giant, with immense courage. It takes steely determination to take the jump that she took. I am in complete awe and know that she will go on to bigger and better things. Her actions have forced me to have a closer look at myself and identify areas of my life where I have settled for the supposedly easy option. However, upon closer inspection it rarely is the easy option, merely just a mirage. The true impact is huge, slowly shutting down and ignoring that voice that tells you you have more to give and are destined for greater things, dulling your sparkle and weighing down your already heavy heart.

The life you were created to have is waiting out there for you but only if you are brave enough to go and get it. You weren’t created to live an ok life. The statistics of you being the actual human that came into existence is one in 400 quadrillion! Do you really think, with odds like that, you were merely meant to turn up and settle and live a below par existence?

Just you being here proves that you are made of tough stuff. You’ve already competed against countless others just for the chance to be here today. Stop wasting the amazing chance that you were given. Go and get the life that you want, the life that you deserve. Everything is possible but only the truly brave make it a reality.

The best bit is, as you start taking bold steps to improve your own life you set off a ripple effect, improving the lives of others around you. Giving them hope and the push needed to take action even if it is just a tiny first step. After all, even the biggest mountain is climbed by taking that first step. Go take your first step today and enjoy living the life you were destined to have.
